The Vehicle type listed on our website www.montecar.com/Fleet.aspx and your voucher is for guidance only. Cars are booked by tariff group and therefore specific makes can not be guaranteed whereas models can be guaranteed sometimes. However, in case the needed car is not available at the time of the customer's request, a similar alternative car is offered from the same category or from the next category. Monte Carlo Rent a Car in Jordan reserves the right to supply a vehicle of ‘similar’ size or specification.
We use the following car tariff/categories:
A. Economy & Compact;
B. Mid-Size;
C· Full Size;
D· Luxury;
E. MPV (Mini Bus/Van 9Persons);
F. 4x4WD;
We offer an ‘or similar’ service whereby if the vehicle that appears on your voucher is not available upon your arrival, you will be offered a similar car from the car group you have booked. See Our Fleet section for more information about each category and the available cars in each.

12. Why do car rental companies ask for a credit card?
Imagine that your brand-new car which cost you $20,000 is parked in front of your house. A stranger knocks your house door and asks you to lend him/her your car for the weekend and s/he promises you to pay $100 (about one-half of one percent of the value of the car) when he brings your car back Monday morning. What would you do? On the one hand, you are intrigued with the idea of getting $100 for lending your car to someone that you don’t know. On the other hand, the risk may be too great! You don't even know this person or even where s/he lives. What if s/he doesn't bring the car back? You wouldn't even know where to look for it! What if s/he damages the car or behaves irresponsibly? This scenario demonstrates our need to secure information regarding the credit-worthiness of our renters.
However, we sure want to "lend" our cars for a fee to people who want to "borrow" them, but we also want to get them back in the same condition we lent them. Credit cards and valid drivers' licences usually provide the only information we have about our renters. That’s why many car rental companies no longer rent on a cash basis under any circumstances. Renters should ask about a company's rental policies when they make a reservation.

13. Do I have a fully comprehensive Insurance?
A. Of course, our insurance is sold as third party and has a fully comprehensive insurance (protects the renter against a claim made by another person in the event of any damage or injury).
B. In the unfortunate event of an accident, or damage to the vehicle, the renter will be expected to pay a certain amount towards the total repair cost which varies from car to car. This is the renter car insurance excess. Our excess payment is set at per claim, according to the rented category from A to B 330US$, from C to E 800$.
C. If the car is fully damaged, you will need to pay the value of $1000 for category from A to B or $1500 for other categories.
D. We strongly advise our customers to purchase the Additional Insurance Coverage (AIC) which contains of (CDW,TPI,PAI,LDW,PDW & DEW) so you are covered in all eventualities and therefore you will NOT pay any excess amount whether it’s your responsibility or not if you have a crash. To buy the additional insurance coverage (AIC) will cost you $10 per day for group A & B categories and $25 per day for other higher categories.
14. What is the Additional Insurance Coverage (AIC)?
Let us clarify this additional Insurance Coverage protection in detail. The additional Insurance Coverage (AIC) exclusively offered by Monte Carlo Rent -a- Car in Jordan which is NOT insurance. It's an option that has (CDW,TPI,PAI,LDW,PDW & DEW) which relieves the renters of financial responsibility if the car is damaged or stolen while under rental contract Zero Deductible Insurance which protects the customer from paying any excess, even if the car was fully damaged. However, by purchasing this kind of insurance which costs 15$ per day for group A to B and 25$ for other higher categories, you therefore in all eventualities will NOT pay any excess amount in the event of an accident or damage, except where negligence is proved by the police;
Terms:
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
Theft Protection Insurance (TPI)
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
Physical Damage Waiver (PDW)
Damage excess waiver (DEW)
15. How much do I have to pay to the Additional Insurance Coverage (AIC)?
a. 15$ per day for category A & B.
b. 25$ per day for category C, D, E&F.
16. Do I have to pay any excess if I buy the Additional Insurance Coverage (AIC)?
(AIC) is subject to certain exclusions which include without limit, when damage is caused to windows/windscreens, wheels and tyres, the underside or roof of the car or where the vehicle is driven off-road or on un-tarmacked roads, without due care and attention, negligently or where the driver is under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. Your liability to pay for the damage will therefore not be waived in these circumstances and you may be liable for the full cost.
Therefore, using the vehicle in violation of any of the use restrictions like what mentioned above and in the rental agreement could void the Additional Insurance Coverage (AIC) and leave the renter fully responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle. If you would like us to waive your liability to pay the excess referred to above, then you can purchase our damage excess waiver product (DEW). However, please be aware that even with this product you will still have to compensate the car rental partner for damage which falls within one of the exclusions identified above or in the rental contract.
17. What is Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)?
A collision damage waiver (CDW) is an agreement by which a rental car company agrees not to hold the renter responsible for accidental damage or loss, as long as the renter has not violated the terms of the rental agreement. A CDW may also be called a loss damage waiver (LDW) or a physical damage waiver (PDW).
18. What is Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)?
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) provides the authorized renters and passengers of the rental vehicle with an accidental death benefit and coverage for certain medical / ambulance expenses resulting from an accident. Renters are protected both in and out of the rental vehicle during the entire rental period and others are covered while occupying the vehicle.
19. What is Theft Protection Insurance (TPI)?
A Theft Protection Insurance (TPI) is an agreement by which a rental company agrees not to hold the renter responsible for theft but the renter should carry the responsibility if s/he violates the conditions such as leaving the vehicle in an empty area, forgetting the key inside the car, leaving the car unlocked or any kind of carelessness; therefore, the rental company has the right to charge the renter for any loss or damage that may be caused due to carelessness. So any failure to meet the stated agreement would result in readjustment of the rental charges.
20. Do I have to buy the Additional Insurance Coverage (AIC) even if my CREDIT CARD covers me?
a· Even if a renter has personal automobile insurance, s/he may not be totally protected. For example, if you decline AIC/LDW/DEW/CDW/LDW/PAI/TPI and rely on your own insurance or Credit Card, you probably would be responsible for paying your usual deductible which varies from the value of $500 to repair the car or $1500 if the car was fully damaged. However, if renter declines the Additional Insurance Coverage (AIC) offered by Monte Carlo Rent a Car in Jordan, s/he will be responsible for up to the full fair market value of the car if it is damaged, vandalized or stolen during the rental period. You may also be responsible for reimbursing the car rental company for the revenue lost by not being able to use the car while it is being repaired or not recovered due to theft ("loss of use").
b· We strongly advise our customers to purchase the Additional Insurance Coverage (AIC) so you are covered in all eventualities and therefore you will NOT pay any excess amount whether it’s your responsibility or not if you have a crash.
21. Why do I have to pay a deposit?
a. It is a condition of hire for the primary driver to present his/her Credit Card to our representative upon arrival in order to take two vouchers, one for the rental payment, and the other for a deposit of US$330-1500 which depends on the car type (This is for all basic vehicles and may increase if a specialist or premium vehicle is hired. If in doubt, please do not hesitate to contact us).
b. Debit or Switch cards are NOT acceptable; it must be a valid credit card.
C· The deposit is for damage excess that will become applicable if the car is returned with any new damage or if the renter violates the legal regulations.
D· Please ensure that you have checked your vehicle carefully before starting and when finishing your rental.
E· If you return the vehicle in a satisfactory condition, we will simply destroy the card stamp after 72hours, and we will send you an email informing you that the stamp which has a number has been cancelled. Thus, make sure that our representative wrote the stamps number on your contract before signing it.

c· Although you present a major credit card at the time of rental, you will be asked if you would like to pay the rental period either by cash or by charging your credit card. Since car rental companies ask for credit approval on the estimated car rental charges when you pick up the car, that amount will be held against your credit balance on that card for up to 30 days, regardless of how you pay upon return.
23. Do you accept travel cheques?

25. What do I need to remember to take with me?
Most important of all is your car hire voucher as this is like your plane ticket and you cannot start your rental without it. This is what is emailed to you immediately after you have confirmed your booking. Also you must remember to take your passport, driving licence and a credit card. When our representative meets you, s/he will most likely take a stamp of your credit card for deposit purposes; to insure that if anything happens to the vehicles, we can charge your card directly for it. If you return the vehicle in a satisfactory condition, we will simply destroy the card stamp after 72hours, and we will send to you an email informing you that the stamp number of your credit card has been cancelled. |
28. Can I drive to neighboring countries?
Jordanian laws limit cross-border rentals. Driving is allowed only within the country. The rented car could be driven out of the country on two conditions: If it's driven by a driver provided by a company, and if we are informed of your intention to drive the car outside the country before hand so we could arrange for it prior to the rental.
29. Driving off-road or negligent use?
Our car hire vehicle at Monte Carlo is rented for use on the public highways of Jordan. They cannot be used off-road. Although a very rare occurrence, we'd like you to be aware that damage to the underside of the car hire vehicle caused by negligent driving or off-road use at Monte Carlo (we have had occasion to have to lift car hire vehicles out of dried-up river beds!) is at your own risk. Drinking and driving a hire car is considered negligent use.
30. Why do I have to pay additional charges for pick up or/and drop-off?
Monte Carlo may charge renters an extra "drop-off" fee for cars picked up at one location and returned in another city, so the company needs to retrieve the car, either by hiring someone to drive the car back or by having the car shipped back. Customers interested in a one-way rental should specifically ask if there are any drop-off fees or charges for additional mileage, and what locations are authorized for such rental car returns. In all cases, there are added expenses to the company for such rentals.
However, there are also many circumstances in which NO drop off charge will be levied (Queen Alia International Airport and within Amman City limits are free of charge). More details (?).
31. Why do I have to return my car at a set time?
